An ORI (Originating Agency Identifier) is a 9-character code that tells FDLE which agency should receive your fingerprint results. Every licensing board, agency and programme has its own code — for example, Florida real estate applicants use FL920010Z and nurses endorsing into Florida use EDOH4420Z.

How do I find my ORI number in Florida?

Search this directory by your profession or the agency that asked for your screening. If your profession is not listed, your ORI is printed on the paperwork from whoever sent you — your employer packet, licensing board instructions, or Clearinghouse initiation screen. Only the requesting agency can confirm its code.

What happens if I use the wrong ORI number?

Your results are sent to the wrong agency, your application stalls, and you usually have to be fingerprinted again and pay again. Always check the code against your application paperwork before your appointment.

What should I bring to my fingerprinting appointment?

Accepted Answer

A government photo ID, your ORI number, and your application or employer paperwork. For Clearinghouse screenings (AHCA, DCF, DOH and similar), initiate your screening in the Clearinghouse first — your photo is taken at the Live Scan appointment.
